Southern 3D Feature: 3D Night Jam Lights Up Birmingham

When the sun goes down, the real show begins. This weekend, September 26–27, the Birmingham RC Association is hosting one of the South’s most electrifying RC gatherings: the 3D Night Jam, proudly presented by Extreme Flight.

This isn’t your average fun-fly. By day, pilots from across the Southeast will be pushing their 3D aircraft to the edge — snapping, tumbling, and hovering with the kind of precision that only years of dedication can produce. By night, the skies over Morris, Alabama will transform into a canvas of glowing wings, LED trails, and roaring maneuvers set against a backdrop of fireworks.

The Experience

• Daytime 3D Demos
  The event kicks off with nonstop 3D action. Expect to see everything from massive gassers to sleek electrics carving up the Alabama air. Southern 3D pilots you know and love will be there showing what’s possible when raw skill meets top-tier equipment.
• Night Flying Spectacle
  As darkness falls, LED-equipped aircraft take the stage. Watching a 3D plane hover inches above the runway while glowing like a neon comet is an experience every RC fan should witness at least once. Add a fireworks finale, and you’ve got a night to remember.

  With local food trucks on-site, no one’s flying (or spectating) on an empty stomach. It’s a family-friendly atmosphere where kids, newcomers, and veteran pilots all mingle around the flightline, sharing stories and tips.
